SERVICES

HONING

Honing is an abrasive machining process that produces a precision surface on a metal workpiece by scrubbing an abrasive grinding stone or grinding wheel against it along a controlled path. Honing is primarily used to improve the geometric form of a surface, but can also improve the surface finish.

DRILLING

BTA drilling is a deep hole drilling process that uses a specialized drilling tool on a long drill tube to produce deep holes in metal, from holes with a diameter of 20 mm [0.80 in] and larger, up to depth-to-diameter ratios of 400:1. BTA drilling is the most effective method of drilling deep holes, as it is a cleaner, more reliable and capable process than conventional twist drills, and can achieve larger diameters and higher feed rates than the alternative gun drilling.

TREPANNING

Trepanning is a special process used to produce holes or circular grooves by using one or more cutters and revolving them around a center or core. Typically this operation is used when conventional machines are tooled up to do deep hole drilling. Usually in such cases, the machine power is less, so solid BTA drilling is not possible.

BURNISHING

Skiving and roller burnishing process provide high quality hydraulic cylinders with final sizing and creates the desired finish pattern on the interior of tubing or cylinder bores. They are used in the manufacturing of hydraulic cylinders. Compared to honing process, they are 80-90% saving of machine time which reduces tool costs per meter of tube length and produces super finish surface, with a bore tolerance of IT8, thereby reduces the sealing wear making it ideal for pistons.
